My Christmas Tree

So, it's been a bit of a project this year to get us a Christmas Tree. It all started when Grady and the guys at his work decided to get permits to cut down their own trees. Sounds like a good idea right... Ummm could have been. It turned out to be such a project (snowmobiles, trailer, chain saw, etc) that they didn't get to it until the 8th. Then it became a project to get home, which didn't happen until the 11th. And, we finally got it in the house on the 13th.

So, when we decided to put it in the house, we measured the tree, but didn't think of measuring the celing. (it was about 4 ft too tall :) I know! We are retarded! Since we don't have a chain saw, we decided to cut the top off!!!! I told myself I would NEVER do that, but with some cleaver trimming, it doesn't look bad! The next morning I get out all my decorations to find out I only have enough lights to cover the bottom 1/3 of the tree. I went to the store and bought more the next day, but I STILL didn't have enough! So, one more trip to Wal-Mart and like $50 later, I had a decorated tree and a whole 11 days before Christmas!

Love the tree. You did an awesome job. It's hard to find good-looking real trees, but you did good!

What a great story. It cool to have this blog to record it all. I print my blog every couple months and make a hard copy scrapbook. It's a great journal.

Your tree looks great! It was definitely worth all of that work. I bet it smells nice too. Your home looks wonderful (I didn't even notice the TV) and the tree looks perfect. What a great way to set the mood for Christmas!
